Jelani Aryeh
Jelani Aryeh is a 20-year-old Filipino/African-American singer and songwriter from San Diego. His music lives between genre lines, seamlessly blending indie rock, R&B, hip-hop, pop and experimental sounds. Standing out from the crowd in an era of memes and social media virality, Jelani brings an emotional depth, spirituality and substance to his songs that belies his teenage years.
Inspired by contemporary creative outfits like Odd Future and Brockhampton, Jelani started Raised by The Internet, a collective of like-minded visual artists, producers, and songwriters who he originally met on Brockhampton, OF and Frank Ocean subreddits.
Jelani’s latest release, “Stella Brown,” is an indie rock anthem that’s already taking off. Prior to that, he released his debut nine-track Helvetica EP, featuring singles “Patagonia” (Zane Lowe Beats1 Premiere), “Jetfuel” and “Earl Grey.” His music has music has amassed over 25 million streams, and featured on playlists including Spotify’s New Music Friday, Pollen, Anti Pop, Lorem, Alternative R&B, Tastebreakers, All New Indie, and Apple Music’s INDIY, New Fire, New Music Daily, Indie Pop, cover of ALT CTRL and more.
